‘’Selfies’’ in the workplace. How about that?

Remember the time when you go to work and you don’t need to punch in? You just go to your office, sit on your desk, and start working. No? Of course you don’t.
Entering into the 21st century, employees have had to comply to workplace attendance systems that, frankly speaking, is both costly and impractical.
Look at RFIDs. RFIDs (Radio-Frequency Identification) serve as bar codes or magnetic strips usually put on you or your employees’ person – usually on ID strips. Just as a bar code or magnetic strip must be scanned to get the information, the RFID device must be scanned to retrieve the identifying information.
But what if your ID got lost? You’d have to go through all the hassle of going to your lawyer for an affidavit of loss, then to your Supervisor, to HR, and then to the systems administrator of your workplace. It sounds like you’re applying for another job when all you practically needed to do is tell everybody at work, ‘’This is me and I’m working right now.’’
You might say, ‘’Hey, that’s why Biometric ID Systems are the best!’’ But, do you know Biometric systems range from $5,000 to $10,000 PER DOOR INSTALLMENT. The amount of money is ridiculous. It could have been spent on your company’s next Christmas Party or raise your paygrades. Better yet, it could have been given to a foundation in line with your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Yes, thumbprints are unique but do you know what else is unique? Your face.
Why don’t we bank on being the ‘’Selfie Generation’’ and utilize it to our advantage? You don’t need to worry about losing your ID. You already have your face. Unless you lose your face then that’s a whole different story.
But kidding aside, wouldn’t it be great if we could go to the office, sit on our desk, TAKE A SELFIE, and prove to the world we’re working and FABULOUS?
